As far as international basketball goes, the country of France must have some sort of magnet that attracts San Antonio Spurs Summer League players. On Monday, a report stated that Spurs summer league center Alexis Ajinca would be re-signing with his French team Strausborg.
Now, via Sport24.com, it seems Spurs summer league guard Dwight Buycks will be signing with French team BCM Gravelines Dunkerque. Buycks didn’t seem like he had a solid chance of making the Spurs’ lineup because they are so stacked at the guard positions.
The Spurs’ backcourt is so clogged up right now that sophomore Cory Joseph, who was named a Summer League All-Star, might not even get enough quality minutes in San Antonio after the Olympic performances of Patty Mills and the signing of Nando De Colo.
For now, Buycks will be joining a French club where he’ll presumably receive a good chunk of minutes where he can showcase himself and build his game, in the case that he wishes to give the NBA another shot in the future.
