NESN may go in a new direction for their on-field reporter for the 2012 season according to this report and others. Heidi Watney’s contract expires at the end of the month and it is very unlikely that it will be renewed.
Watney has been with NESN since 2008 and was recently involved in a spat with sports radio host Michael Felger.
If the report is true I wish Heidi good luck in her future endeavours, she will be missed. I met her this past summer and she was very nice person who went out of her way to talk to my kids before a Red Sox game.
UPDATE: Watney has reportedly taken a job covering the LA Lakers, assuming the NBA ever has games again.
