With the DeSean Jackson speculation heating up around the Philadelphia Eagles, the team has been looking at wide receivers in this year’s upcoming NFL Draft. We have heard the names of Kelvin Benjamin, Mike Evans, and Brandin Cooks being connected to the Philadelphia Eagles but there is a new name to talk about.
His name is Cody Latimer who is a wide receiver out of Indiana University. According to NFL Draft analyst/insider Tony Pauline, Latimer has confirmed visits with the Carolina Panthers, Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills, and Philadelphia Eagles.
Latimer is a 6-foot-2, 200 lb junior wide receiver creating buzz around the NFL. This past season at Indiana, Latimer had 72 receptions for 1,096 receiving yards, and nine touchdowns. In 2012 season as a sophomore, Latimer had 51 receptions for 805 receiving yards, and six touchdowns.
This past season at Indiana, Latimer had huge games for the Hoosiers including a three game stretch where he had 100 plus receiving yards. His best game of the season came against Illinois, where he had 11 receptions for 189 yards and three touchdowns. Those numbers scream game breaker and playmaker.
Can Latimer fit into Chip Kelly’s scheme? He probably can as he a posted a low 4.4 forty during his pro day.
