I’ll just start by saying this is an unusual source for something like this, but Carron Phillips of Delaware Online has tweeted this list of All Star game reserves:

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsI’m not here to besmirch Carron Phillips, because I don’t know anything about the guy. He does have a verified account, he’s responding to tweets about the posts so he wasn’t hacked, and he’s a reporter for a legitimate news outlet that’s part of the USA Today network. So while he’s an unusual source, there’s nothing to indicate he’s just making things up for the sake of attention. This seems legit… which is why I’m posting it.
So we’ll have to wait and see whether the official announcement matches this report…
Assuming it does (and we hope it does) then we should congratulate Isaiah Thomas for his first All Star selection. He really, really, really wants to make this team, and I think he really is deserving.
I really don’t doubt that he’s on the team. You can’t tell me the team holding the 5th seed at the time of the selections would get NO All Stars. So I feel pretty comfortable saying congrats to IT. It’s a well-deserved honor.
