According to Sam Amick of USA Today,  Jimmer Fredette is on his way to Chicago to join the Bulls.  On Friday evening before he left town, we caught up with the former Sacramento Kings guard for one last extended one-on-one conversation.

Normally those pieces go straight up on Cowbell Kingdom, but this time around, the mothership wanted the first taste of the apple.  Here is an excerpt from Jimmer’s last interview from Sacramento.  You can find the interview in its entirety on ESPN’s Truehoop front page.

CK: What is your takeaway from your two and a half years in Sacramento?  Why do you think things didn’t work out while you were here?

JF: you know, it was a great character building experience for me.  Obviously I appreciate the fact the the Kings even drafted me.  They drafted me pretty high and it was a great opportunity for me to start my career.  Sometimes things don’t work out the way that you want them to when you start your career, but it’s all about learning and becoming better and I think I’ve definitely done that.
