REPORT: Josh Hamilton meeting with MLB about disciplinary issue

-17

Just when you think the Josh Hamilton situation can’t get any worse, Mike DiGiovanni of the LA Times dropped this bomb:

Angels left fielder Josh Hamilton is meeting with Major League Baseball officials Wednesday about a disciplinary issue, and the team is bracing for possible penalties.

General Manager Jerry Dipoto confirmed that Hamilton was in New York, but he declined to say what prompted league officials to summon the outfielder.

“I can say that Josh is going to meet with league officials in New York,” Dipoto said. “At this point I have no other information to offer.” The Los Angeles Times learned the meeting involved a disciplinary issue through a person with knowledge of the situation.

Undisclosed disciplinary action? Preparing for penalties? Oh, Josh, what have you done now? Let the speculation begin!

Given Hamilton’s history of drug abuse, one has to wonder if that might not be the case here. Or perhaps Hamilton turned to PEDs in an attempt to regain his old form or recover from his current injury. Or maybe he has been murdering hobos for sport. Really anything is on the table at this point.

More updates will come as people who actually do reporting report them.

UPDATE: Like, zoiks, Scoob.
