Report: Nets may be looking to blow it up

The Brooklyn Nets have begun reaching out to teams to let them know that former All-Stars Deron Williams, Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson are all available via trade, ESPN.com has learned.

League sources told ESPN.com that ‎the Nets, off to a disappointing 8-11 start and looking to retool after last season’s $190 million roster filled with veterans couldn’t advance beyond the second round of the playoffs, have ‎let it be known that they are prepared to move any of those franchise cornerstones in what would likely be separate deals if they came to fruition because of the high salaries each possess.

Sources say no trade is imminent involving any of the three players.

ESPN: Nets exploring potential blockbusters

The Celtics own the Nets 2016 and 2018 first round picks, regardless of how bad the Nets might get.  The Celtics can also swap places with Brooklyn in 2017, essentially giving the Celtics the Nets position in three straight drafts if they so choose.

So how are Danny Ainge and Wyc Grousbeck taking the news that the 8-11 Nets might be willing to dive into the Philadelphia 76’ers memorial dunk tank and suck for those years?

This could just be Billy King desperately trying to get his wildly under-performing squad to wake the F up. But as Jay said when I mentioned that possibility… if they’re not away by now, then will they ever wake up?

This just goes to show that even the most deep-pocketed crazy billionaire won’t pay top dollar for a shitty product.  And the Nets are a shitty product right now.
