Though we are awaiting a second confirmation from other reporters, if the dollar amounts reported by Murray are true, then this has to be considered a huge win for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Nova had been seeking at least a three-year deal in the range of $36 million or more. We have seen his market push back against that figure, and that helped the Pirates stay in the mix.
UPDATE: Ken Rosenthal has also confirmed the signing.
Source confirms: #Pirates in agreement with free-agent RHP Ivan Nova. Deal pending physical. First reported: @RobertMurrayFRS.

Nova’s success since coming over to the Pirates was well documented. Nova found an incredble amount of control in his time with Pittsburgh, walking just 0.4 batters per nine innings. Additionally, he utilized a better first-strike approach to lead his renaissance.
It is unknown if the Nova signing will affect the team’s reported pursuit of Jose Quintana, but as of now, the Pittsburgh Pirates have successfully addressed one of their largest deficiencies as they approach 2017.
PIRATES BREAKDOWN will have MUCH more on this signing in the coming days.
