Report: Ralph to spend mega bucks on new coach

NFL Network reporter Jason LaCanfora shared what he was hearing about the Buffalo Bills’ coaching search on “NFL Gameday Morning.”

Bills owner Ralph Wilson is willing to spend upwards of $10 million to land the right person. Mike Shanahan is at the top of their list. They’re going to talk to him first. They also have an interest in Bill Cowher.

Mind of Joe
The way all the national pundits are crapping on any established coach wanting to go to Buffalo ( Herman Edwards said he wouldn’t want to coach the Bills and Boomer Esiason asked why would Shanahan want to coach the Bills), Ralph may have to give his next coach stock options. It’s good news that Wilson wants to pony up that kind of money. But if any fan thinks that Wilson is going to get Shanahan or Cowher to come to Buffalo before the season ends, they are sadly mistaken.

Coaches are creatures of over preparation. That’s why coaches want mini-camps and don’t want the preseason to get cut down. They want options. All these big name coaches are going to want to see how the field plays out for all the job openings.

My advice to Bills fans, root for the Cowboys and the Bears to win out.
