After coming off of a career season Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper has made himself a hot commodity when NFL free agency starts on March 11.
This past season, Cooper had 835 receiving yards on 47 receptions to go along with eight touchdowns. With those type of numbers, Cooper will be a top target in an average wide receiver free agent class that also includes teammate Jeremy Maclin.
According to PFT, they say per a league source that Cooper will have a significant demand when free agency starts. Just going by what this source is saying Cooper will have a lot of suitors. It is warranted since he had a big season and is a big wide receiver. Also he was second in receiving per reception to Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon.
With Desean Jackson already making $10 million a year it will be hard for the Eagles to keep Cooper and Maclin. But the Eagles have already said that they would like to keep him. In my honest opinion, I feel as if Riley Cooper will not be an Eagle next season. Not because the Eagles don’t want him back. It will be because of the market and some team will be desperate enough to offer Cooper a large sum of money.
