Oakland Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell’s weight has been a topic of conversation since he weighed in at the NFL combine.
The chorus on Russell’s weight restarted last offseason when SI’s Don Banks reported that Russell weighed 300 lbs. Then reports came in that he had been fined for being overweight at training camp and had work ethic issues. He went on to have an abysmal season.
The weight has again been the key topic regarding JaMarcus. It started with Raiders assistant coach Willie Brown saying that Russell was in good shape and had been putting in work. Then Tim Kawakami reported that Russell had weighed in at 271, which is 11 pounds over his listed weight.
The newest reports are that Russell weighed in at 290.
The truth won’t be known until the mandatory minicamp when he will be seen by us writers.
