Andre Iguodala appeared to be destined to come to the capital city. That is until the Sacramento Kings’ withdrew their offer.
According to Sam Amick of USA Today Sports, the Kings took a four-year, $50-plus million deal for Iguodala off the table. The Kings apparently wanted an answer from Iguodala sooner rather than later. However after meeting with multiple teams, including the Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans, the veteran small forward was not prepared to commit to Sacramento.
Iguodala took to Twitter at around the same time the Kings apparently withdrew their offer. Here is what he tweeted.

At the time of their initial offer, the Kings were reportedly in the lead to land Iguodala’s services. Iguodala has received a five-year extension to stay with the Nuggets, however the offer is believed to be valued lower than the now-dead deal from the Kings.
With their pursuit of Iguodala seemingly over, what the Kings do next is yet to be determined. Free agent swingman Tyreke Evans has a deal worth upwards of $44-million plus incentives waiting for him in New Orleans. However, there are questions regarding whether the Kings’ new braintrust of Vivek Ranadivé, Pete D’Alessandro and Michael Malone all value Evans at that price.
