Earlier in the week, there were reports going around that the Seattle Mariners have been in trade talks with the Philadelphia Phillies for outfielder Marlon Byrd. Byrd has been one of the Phillies’ most consistent offensive players and outfielders.
Remember the last time that the Mariners and Phillies did a trade. The Phillies traded Cliff Lee to the Mariners for Phillippe Aumont, J.C. Ramirez, and Tyson Gillies. That trade did not work out well but currently it seems as if Mariners-Phillies trade talks have stalled according to Jon Morosi of FOX Sports.
Mariners’ talks regarding Price and Zobrist come at a time when progress has stalled in their efforts to acquire Marlon Byrd. @FOXSports1

Trade talks have stalled because the Seattle Mariners have turned their attentions to the Tampa Bay Rays. The Mariners feels as if they could get a better deal from the Rays which would be starting pitcher David Price and outfielder Ben Zobrist.
The Phillies can’t offer a starting pitcher to go with Byrd but I do expect him to be involved in more trade rumors as we get closer to the trade deadline.
