The domestic violence charges against #Celtics F Jared Sullinger have been dropped in Waltham #wcvb
— Scott Isaacs (@ScottIsaacs) October 28, 2013
That’s WCVB executive producer Scott Isaacs reporting that prosecutors have dropped charges against Jared Sullinger. Sullinger had agreed to counseling after being charged with domestic abuse, and his former girlfriend had backed off the charges. There seemed to be some reluctance on the prosecutor’s part to do this, especially after the Jared Remy tragedy. There had been some speculation that the State didn’t want another high-profile repeat, despite the fact that there was absolutely no semblance of a similarity in the cases other than we’ve heard of these guys.
It’s great that this chapter is closing. We hope Sullinger has learned a valuable lesson and is taking steps to avoid any future problems. Now he can focus on playing basketball.
