After speculation that DeJuan Blair was held out of his second summer league game due to contract negotiations, an article from EveryJoe.com published yesterday reports that the Spurs and Blair’s agent, Happy Walters, have come to an agreement.
DeJuan Blair, the 37th selection in the 2009 NBA Draft, has agreed to a contract with the San Antonio Spurs. Blair made the announcement on a television broadcast. Terms of the contract are unknown at this point.
The television broadcast was an interview with Blair on ESPN News. It’s been speculated that Blair would receive the remaining part of the mid-level exception after Antonio McDyess was signed. This couldn’t come at a better time, since there were already several rumors of Blair being offered contracts from several teams overseas.
With the contract done, we should likely see Blair in tonight’s summer league game, which you can follow through live play-by-play and chat here on ProjectSpurs later tonight.
Update: Blair, through his twitter page, has confirmed that he has officially signed with the Spurs.
