Glasnow, the 22 year-old #1 overall prospect in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ system – as per MLB pipeline – will be the second highly touted starter to debut behind Jameson Taillon. With Chad Kuhl and Steven Brault also making their debut, four pieces of a historic Indianapolis Indians rotation will make their debut in 2016.
Tyler Glasnow career minors stats
Though Glasnow’s lack of control has remained a red flag for concern, the Pirates are now going to see what they truly have in the young hurler. While we await word from the team on the exact date of his arrival, he will likely ply his trade against arguably the best team in baseball over the first half. The Cubs lineup is full of quality major league hitters, so this will represent a significant challenge for any starter making his first start.
