The rumors ended up being true. Wes Rucker of Tennessee’s 247 site says that Cincinnati running back Ralph David Abernathy IV will transfer to Tennessee in January. This was confirmed by Abernathy’s father. The rumors of Ralph David joining his brother Micah sounded like they had a lot of smoke behind them, and they did.
RDA IV was at the Tennessee game today when the Vols hosted Kentucky. RDA was recruited by Butch Jones, who is the current coach at Tennessee. Abernathy didn’t have a large role this season before he ended up injured. He didn’t seem to fit what Tommy Tuberville and the coaching staff wanted.
