The return of Dean Ambrose

On Sunday Sept. 22, WWE fans gathered around their televisions to watch Night of Champions in hopes of seeing the return of the lunatic fringe Dean Ambrose. Ambrose has been filming a movie and was set to return to WWE, but fans were not sure when. With everyone anticipating when he would make his surprise appearance, Night of Champions seemed like too good of an opportunity to pass up.

When Roman Reigns appeared on the screen, explaining he would not be wrestling due to a hernia he suffered the night before, it was an upset to fans. Who would be wrestling Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins? Rollins comes out announcing he will accept any offer from any WWE Superstar in a wrestling match right then and there.

The crowd starts chanting Ambrose’s name and after a few minutes of no one accepting Rollins’ challenge, a taxi drives up back stage and Ambrose appears. The crowd went crazy as Ambrose ran to the ring and started fighting Rollins, chasing him all over the arena. Security then had to separate the two superstars from one another, but we all know this is only the beginning of this rivalry that started long ago.

On Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown following Night of Champions, Ambrose made his return known to Rollins.  Before Ambrose took his leave of absence, Rollins and Kane had attempted to end Ambrose’s career by smashing his head in between two cement blocks. So once Ambrose returned to Monday Night Raw, he made sure Rollins and the fans knew he was not going away until justice was served when he said, “I’m not dead, far from it. I’m not satisfied and I can hold a grudge.” He then did something to show Rollins he was not joking. He stole his money in the bank brief case.

Reigns not being able to fight was a little disappointing because he has become a fan favorite. His injury however gave WWE the perfect opportunity to bring Ambrose back. Reigns’ surgery, as bad as it sounds, could not have happened at a better time. Bringing Ambrose back during Night of Champions gave the show the perfect opportunity to start the storyline right back where it left off when Rollins and Kane attacked Ambrose with cement blocks and sent him to the hospital. Ambrose has a vengeance and the insanity that he brings along with it creates an amazing character that fans love.

When The Shield broke up, everyone was completely blindsided. Rollins turns against his Shield brothers and attacks them. But what would make a better show than three brothers fighting each other? It creates an underdog story that every sports fan can’t resist. Reigns and Ambrose are the victims and the minute Rollins turned on them, fans named Rollins the villain. Every Monday and Friday night, people turned on their TV’s to see if Ambrose or Reigns could take down Rollins. This is what gives people the will to watch.

Being able to watch superstars such as Ambrose twice a week makes fans happy and gives them a feeling that they’re a part of their lives. Ambrose’s being a little bit of a lunatic and a whole lot of crazy makes fans love and support him. It is a part of his charm and it keeps people wanting more. Ambrose’s hiatus seemed long because all his fans were awaiting his return.  And now that he’s back, I’m sure we’ll be seeing the uncontrollable and crazy Ambrose that we all know and love.
