I wonder what recruiting violations Tennessee Volunteers women’s basketball head coach Pat Summitt will accuse UConn Huskies head coach Geno Auriemma of now after the Huskies landed another big recruit.
Kiah Stokes, a 6’3″ post player from Iowa, made her college decision on Thursday and she has decided to play her college basketball at the tiny mecca of women’s basketball we like to call Storrs, CT. Stokes is the 42nd ranked by player by HoopGurlz.
She chose UConn over Tennessee, Iowa, Georgia and Maryland. Apparently her final two came down to her homestate Hawkeyes and the Huskies.
“I’m so excited for this,’’ Stokes said. “And I can’t wait for next year when I’m at the University of Connecticut and I put on that uniform. The relationship with the coaches is a big part for me. I love Coach Auriemma and all the assistant coaches. I think they’re hilarious. They’re funny. They know when to be serious and to get work done. It’s just a great balance of all of it put together. I feel like their personalities complement mine and vice versa.’’
Stokes joins a recruiting class that already includes No. 1 ranked player by HoopGurlz in Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and No. 24 ranked player Brianna Banks.
