Famed director Richard Linklater is heading back to the diamond.

Linklater, who brought “Boyhood” to the big screen in 2014 is set to bring his latest offering, a yet-to-be-titled baseball comedy, to theaters April 15, 2016…just in time for Opening Day.  Described as a  “spiritual sequel” to 1993’s “Dazed and Confused”, the movie is said to follow a group of college ballplayers “navigating the freedoms and responsibilities of early adulthood” in the 1980s.  The cast includes Blake Jenner, Tyler Hoechlin, Wyatt Russell and Ryan Guzman and won’t be filmmaker’s first baseball comedy. Linklater directed the 2005 “Bad News Bears” reboot.

And, yeah, like nearly everything Linklater has made…this new flick will be set in Texas.
