Richards, Tigers continue to roll at 6-1

photo: hoopsfix.comIf there is a silver-lining in this NBA lockout is it sure does give us time to check in on San Antonio Spurs draftees and keeps tabs on their progress.

Case in point Ryan Richards.

Richards and the Lugano Tigers (6-1) continued their winning streak as they recently defeated Boncourt 98-63.

Richards had a quiet game with six points and six rebounds in 26 minutes of action but he only took four shots because the Tigers defeated Boncourt by such a wide margin.

Now that the prospect of losing an NBA season has become a glimpse of could-be reality, Richards and other Spurs draftees could use this extra time to improve with their clubs in order to make a showcase that they’re ready to come to San Antonio in the 2012-13′ season when the roster would have some open spaces and be in need of youthful talent.

Richards’ numbers have been solid since joining the Tigers. In seven games, he is averaging 13 points, 8.9 rebounds, shooting 50.8% from the field, 78.3% from the free-throw line in 27.7 minutes.
