MENDENHALL CENTER, LAS VEGAS, NV — Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green was a late add to the USA Basketball 2014 Men’s Select Team that practiced last week against the USA Basketball Men’s National Team (#USABMNT) and LetsGoWarriors.com caught up with him after practice last Wednesday.
When we asked about how he handled the Kevin Love-for-Klay Thompson trade rumors, Draymond the Philosopher quipped, “Go on with your everyday life. What’s gonna happen is gonna happen. You can’t stop it and if it’s not gonna happen, live your life.”
Related to that topic, the Warriors’ playoff roster has been far from at 100% health the last two consecutive years. As such, the basketball gods haven’t been kind to the Dubs when it comes to having a #FullSquad.
But Green shrugged that off with the “rider mentality” of a Golden State Warrior.
“You got five guys out on the court and those five you gotta ride with,” Green said, “I try to do my job and focus on that, do what I can do to help contribute to the team.”
He MeanGreen’s business, all Dray everyday.
In fact, Stephen Curry confirmed this.
“You know Draymond,” Curry said when asked about how excited Green was for being invited to the camp, “He always has that demeanor like, game-time, he’s serious all the time. So, I know he’s excited but he won’t let you know.”
