Rinkotology 2011

Normally Days of Y’Orr doesn’t go around pimping other people’s shit, but we love The PensBlog so I don’t feel as dirty doing this. Instead of an acid bath, I’ll just pay prostitutes to spit on me while I sing “Rubber Ducky”. The PensBlog boys are doing a whole new Rinkotology this year and it looks to be as good as it was in the past.

Here’s how everything shakes out (From the Rinkotology site):

“Welcome to the 2011-2012 version of Rinkotology.  We will be hosting three month-long games (October/December/February) with a $10 buy-in.  We will also be hosting Saturday Night games with a $5 buy-in.  Your point totals from both the monthly and weekly games will accumulate throughout the season, and the top-5 finishers in points at the end of March will each win $400.

 MONTHLY GAME

You will pick:
8 forwards
4 defensemen
2 goalies

You will be able to pick numerous players from the same team, and you will also assign a captain whose points will be worth a x2 bonus.

* Monthly format is this:

October 1st to November  27th

December 1st to January 29th

Feburary  1st to March 31st

SCORING

Forwards

Goals = 3 points

Assists = 2 points

Defensman ( Weighted)

Goals = 4 points

Assist = 3 points

Specialty

Hat Trick bonus = 2 points

GWG OT = 2 points

Goalies

Wins = 5 points

Shutout =5 points

Saves = .10

Goalie Assist = 2 points

SATURDAY NIGHT SHOWDOWN

From the Saturday Night slate of games, you will pick:
8 forwards
4 defensemen
2 goalies

You will be able to pick numerous players from the same team, and you will also assign a captain whose points will be worth a x2 bonus.”

Jon, Justin, Pizz and I did this last season for the playoffs and although our team blew more goats than Patrick Kaleta, we had fun doing it. If you have $10 laying around, get in on it. You can win some cash as well. Head over to their site and take a look around. We had a clast doing it and it made the playoffs that much more interesting (as if it needed to be, am I right?) Also, fuck you Tyler Myers for pulling a Lucic and not showing up throughout the playoffs, you really killed Purrgeron’s Pals, you sonofabitch.
