Rinku Singh is in Australia pitching in Canberra this winter, which means that the Aussies can’t resist writing the same stories we’ve been reading for two years in the States (via the PBC Blog). My favorite part? When the writer makes it seem like he has an Australian accent:
”I was a little bit nervous to go, and my mum and dad weren’t happy having me so far away from home, but I said I have to go over there,” Singh recalls.
And how’s Rinku doing with the Canberra Cavalry? Not so hot. He’s pitched 15 innings with 14 strikeouts and just ten hits allowed to go with a 4.20 ERA , but he’s also walked 20 batters. Twelve of those walks have come in his last five appearances, so maybe the long season across two continents that aren’t particularly close to each other is wearing him down. Canberra’s in last place at 12-22, so feel free to insert a Pirate joke wherever seems most appropriate.
