Road Reaction Show: Brooklyn Nets 107, Sac Kings 99

The Sacramento Kings (13-18) fall in Brooklyn 107-99 to the Nets (14-16).  Rudy Gay leads the way with 25 points, nine rebounds and five assists.  DeMarcus Cousins adds 24 points and 13 rebounds, but the Kings turn the ball over 21 times and play little defense in the loss.

What to watch

1. Race to retirement

The Nets roster may be savvy and wise, but they’re also slow. Brooklyn ranks 23rd in the NBA at allowing fast break points (14.2 per game), which plays into Sacramento’s game plan. The Kings have averaged 23 fast break points in their last four contests.

2. Bench vs. bench

Brooklyn’s bench features former starters Deron Williams, Brook Lopez, Alan Anderson and Bojan Bogdanovic, who have all seen better days. Still, the Kings’ second unit will have their hands full staving off the Nets’ backups.

3. DeMarcus Cousins’ encore

In his first game back from gastroenteritis, Cousins scored a season-high 39 points (14-of-27 field goals, 10-of-11 free throws), adding 11 rebounds and four assists. Can the All-Star talent channel a similar performance against Lopez, Kevin Garnett and Team USA partner Miles Plumlee?
