Road Reaction Show: Kings pick up win No. 29

The Sacramento Kings (29-53) had no problem pinning loss No. 61 on the Los Angeles Lakers (21-61) tonight, besting the home team by a final of 122-99.

Seven Kings players scored in double-figures led by Ben McLemore’s 24.  Derrick Williams chipped in 22 off the bench and Ray McCallum added 19 points and six assists in the win.

What to watch

1. Glass protection

In Sacramento’s win over Los Angeles on Monday, the Kings allowed the Lakers to pull down 17 offensive rebounds and 49 total boards. Carlos Boozer and Ed Davis came off the bench and had 24 rebounds between them (14 offensive). The Kings’ frontcourt is undersized without DeMarcus Cousins (foot), Rudy Gay (concussion) and Reggie Evans (thumb), so they’ll need to show more fight.

2. Last impressions

Game 82 is possibly the last match in purple and black for impending free agents Omri Casspi, Derrick Williams, Andre Miller and Ryan Hollins, along with potential trade pieces Jason Thompson and Carl Landry. Will they go out with a bang or a whimper?

3. LA infamy

How the mighty have fallen. If the Lakers lose tonight, they will finish with 61 regular season losses and the worst winning percentage (25.6) in franchise history. If there was ever any incentive for the Kings to get back at Los Angeles for the 2001 Western Conference Finals, this is the time.
