The headline tells it all and it is a relief to Washington Redskins fans.
The Indianapolis Colts will schedule Andrew Luck for a pre-Draft visit, but will not extend the same invitation to Robert Griffin III.
Luck is the consensus once-in-a-lifetime-ready-from-day-one franchise quarterback prospect. The Colts decision shows they are locked on Luck who projects as a Peyton Manning clone.
Redskins fans have fallen in love with Griffin sensing that he is the next evolution of pro quarterback – mobile, agile and football smart, to put it in Joe Gibbs-speak.
Washington is yet to schedule Griffin’s pre-Draft visit, but he will appear at the Collectors’ Showcase of America sports memorabilia show Saturday at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Virginia, along with a slew of current and former Redskins players.
The Redskins, being the Redskins, will not be out-hyped on Griffin madness. The team plans two Draft parties on Thursday, April 26, 6:00 to 11:00 PM for a Draft Watch Party, then a Draft Day Party, Saturday, April 28, 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
You can be sure that Washington’s first round Draft pick, whoever it will be (ahem), will put in a personal appearance on Saturday.
You must have a pass for admission to FedEx Field. Don’t worry. It’s free. Follow the link to CSN Washington, the broadcast partner for the Redskins. Click here.
