Roberto Marroquin to headline Top Rank Red River Rumble

Dallas star fighter Roberto MARROQUIN will take on hard-hitting Antonio Escalente of El Paso in the main event on Top Rank's Red River Rumble boxing card at the WinStar World Casino on Saturday, MARCH 16.

Marroquin,  22-2, with 15 KOs, grew up in Dallas. He is trained by Paul Reyes who has worked with elite fighters and world champions for years.

"I've been boxing since I was eight years old," Marroquin said. "I played a little baseball but once I got into the gym I knew where I really wanted to be. I won over 160 amateur fights and six national amateur titles."

Marroquin vs Escalente is scheduled for 10 rounds in the featherweight division. The main event will be televised on Solo Boxeo Tecate on the UNIMAS network.

There will be nine bouts on the big fight card including Oklahoma slugger Alex 'Cholo' Saucedo who is unbeaten at 7-0-0 with 5 KOs. Saucedo was born in Chihuahua, Mexico and now resides in Oklahoma City. Saucedo boxes in the welterweight division.

Other fighters on the card include popular Bo Gibbs. Jr., a 7-0, 4 KO light heavyweight from Maysville, Oklahoma.

Abie Han, an 18-0, 12 KO, middleweight from El Paso, is scheduled to box eight rounds.
