Roland Gamez Joins North Texas Fisticuffs

Roland Gamez is a man who is no stranger to wearing many hats.  The gregarious Gamez has served as Dallas Fire Chief, amateur boxing official, respected businessman, and professional ring announcer, just to name a few.  Anyone who has even a passing familiarity with North Texas’s burgeoning combative sports scene is keenly aware of who Roland Gamez is.  Truth be told, it’s hard to miss the loquacious and charismatic figure that is a constant presence ring/cage side at some of the DFW’s biggest and best fights.  Outside of his exemplary work with the North Texas amateur boxing scene Gamez is probably best known by fight junkies here in the Metroplex for his series of video interviews that appeared on a local boxing site.  Gamez is inarguably one of the most passionate and knowledgeable combative sports insiders around.  Whether serving as an official for one of our local amateur boxing tournaments or bringing an air of glamour as a ring announcer for a number of local promotions Gamez is an unabashed fan of the combative sport.

All of which is why it is our extreme pleasure that North Texas Fisticuffs is proud to announce that Roland Gamez is the newest member to our talented team.  Gamez and his immense talents are a welcomed addition to the talent-rich group of passionate individuals who help make North Texas Fisticuffs the great site it is today.

“Roland’s Recap” will be a weekly video feature on North Texas Boxing that will be hosted by none other than Gamez himself.  “Roland’s Recap” will treat viewers to editorials and in-depth interviews with the fighters and gym owners that keep the North Texas fight scene afloat.

So please join us in welcoming “The Voice of North Texas” into the fold.  Rest assured fight freaks this pairing will be epic.

Also, in case you were wondering what this new venture will entail, take a look at the video Gamez did with the Philippine News and you will get a picture of what “Roland’s Recap” will feel like.
