Rolando McClain spotted at crime scene in Alabama
A report has surfaced that Raiders starting middle linebacker Rolando McClain has been spotted at the scene where shots were fired in Decatur, Alabama last night. McClain has not been at practice the past two days but his absence was assumed to be because of his ankle injury.

The report states that there were gunshots fired at 10:20pm Wednesday night with one man injured in what police described as a “physical altercation.”

Police Lt. John Crouch said an acquaintance of McClain’s lives at the residence, and investigators have not determined whether McClain was involved in the altercation.

The Raiders were reached for comment and they would only say, “We are aware of the incident. At this time, we have no further comment.”

This is the second gun-related incident involving McClain. He had shots fired at his vehicle earlier this year.

It is uncertain as to why McClain was in Alabama. His injury did not keep him out of last week’s game although he did head to the locker room at one point after tweaking his ankle again. In any case, it was not severe enough to keep him off the practice field entirely, which means there was most likely some family-related reason for him to have traveled back to Alabama.

UPDATE: Hue Jackson said on Thursday that McClain was excused from practice and in Alabama to attend the funeral of his grandfather.

He was also not at practice Thursday, and there is no word yet if he is scheduled to return by Friday’s practice. The Raiders travel to Miami this week so it is very possible McClain could stay in Alabama and meet the team when they arrive in South Florida.
