The Blues have placed Roman Polak on the IR due to a lower-body injury. The defenseman skated against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night, but apparently suffered an ankle injury which will keep him out of the lineup for at least two weeks.
Polak's addition to the IR comes at a time where the Blues are already missing Vladimir Sobotka, Ryan Reaves, Jordan Leopold and David Backes.
The team's depth at defense is about to be tested. With Leopold out and now Polak joining him, the Blues have no choice but to rely heavily on Ian Cole and Carlo Colaiacovo. Cole has had moments of strong play, but he's also been careless with his passes. As for Colaiacovo…well, you know exactly what to expect from him.
Things are about to get interesting.
