The wait is over.  After almost a year out of the sport (it’ll be over 13 months once her next fight rolls around), former MMA queen Ronda Rousey is ready to return to the octagon.  Dana White told FS1’s Colin Cowherd today that Rousey will make her long-awaited return at UFC 207 on December 30th to challenge Amanda Nunes for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship.

After losing her title to Holly Holm last November, Rousey disappeared from the sport, and the few glimpses of her in public revealed a damaged psyche from the loss.  But she’s been training as of late, and news of her return began picking up steam over the past few weeks, with photos of her in the gym and in fighting shape surfacing as of late.  However, photos can’t reveal whether her mind is also in fighting shape and if she has fully healed mentally and emotionally from her first career loss.

UFC 207 will continue the UFC’s tradition of running a huge “New Years” year-end show every year in Vegas.  Former heavyweight champs Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez are also expected to clash at the event.
