Brady Benson is a 15-year old kid from Illinois who was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. His request for the Make-a-Wish Foundation was to meet Celtics captain Rajon Rondo. How did a kid from Illinois become a fan of Rondo and the Celtics? He’s just following the lineage of his family, especially him mom who is a huge C’s and Larry Bird fan. I’ll let Brady (and the video below) tell his story. It’s just another charitable effort by Rondo that usually goes under the radar. Things like this should be talked about and celebrated far more than episodes like “BirthdayGate” but they never are.
Brady was able to meet Brad Stevens along with Rondo and was also given court side seats to a game. Take time to watch the video below and here’s a huge thank you to Rondo for granting Brady’s wish.
