Rondo responds to the rumors

Rajon Rondo addressed the most recent deluge of rumors at shootaround today.

"I'm doing all right. Like they say it's part of the business. I'm happy just playing basketball. I'm happy with the guys they surrounded with me, the coaching staff. Danny and I have talked quite a bit this year so his (best player on the team) is not new news to me. I don't get discouraged when I hear my name in trade talks. Obviously that was big of Doc to come out with that statement but I know the relationship we have. It's gotten better each year."

So there.

Danny talked.  Doc talked.  Rondo talked.

There's always double talk and carefully crafted words in these situations, but I'm pretty sure we haven't been blatantly lied to yet.  The differences are small, but I think the stuff we've heard in the past few hours is pretty definitive.

That doesn't mean the situation is perfect.  It doesn't mean Rondo, or Doc or Danny are perfect at what they do or how they handle things.  But no one is.

So you can love or hate Rondo, Doc, Danny, me, that guy across the street with the lazy eye…. anyone.  It doesn't really matter.  What matters, I think, is that this seems to be done as far as the Celtics are concerned.  Rondo is staying in Boston… at least until the end of the season.

If you absolutely feel the need to rip Rondo, write it down, save it, and you can bust it out on July 1 when the free agency period starts and we can start addressing whatever new batch of ridiculous rumors come down the pike.
