Rondo also told reporters before the game that while he likes the idea of playing in Portland and getting some reps there, he’s going to travel with the team out West.
Generally, when guys travel with the team on road trips when they say they’re “pretty close,” that opens up the possibility of that player coming back during that road trip.
I’d be surprised if that happens, though. I’m now betting that if he goes to Maine, it’ll be after the team returns. That could put him in line for a return later in the month…. when, maybe, a certain team from a New York borough arrives with certain former members of the Boston Celtics.
