Rosenborg played in the Europa Lague against Crusaders FC in Belfast on Thursday. It was a game that RBK should have won easily, but they had to come back from down 1-0 to win 2-1. They didn’t find the lead, break out passes that they should have found, they were a little sketchy in possession in the middle and everything just seemed off.
Sure, they missed Tarik Elyounoussi, who was just sold to German side Hoffenheim, but the real issue was giving up chances the other direction, and they weren’t fast enough in attack.
Meanwhile, in San Diego…..
The United States wrecked Guatemala in an international friendly getting ready for the Gold Cup. Among the reasons was a strong performance of the mid-fielders, like Stuart Holden and Mix Diskerud.
Oh, Mix Diskerud. He plays for Rosenborg, and absolutely crushed it last night in San Diego. Praise for his play was free flowing last night. He will join the US Team for the next month for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, meaning he will leave Rosenborg without one of it’s top midfielders. If Diskerud continues to play well on an international stage, however, Rosenborg might be without Diskerud for a lot longer than just a month.
