MLB will have 10 teams in postseason in 2012
Like the idea or not, Major League Baseball will implement an expanded wild card playoff format this season, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.
This should place more emphasis on the importance of winning the division in baseball, because nobody will want their playoff hopes come down to one final game in a winner-take-all format. Of course this format is not without flaws and naysayers. To be honest, I have yet to truly make up my mind one way or the other. Let me know what you think though with a comment below.
