The Brewers released their 25-man roster for their NLDS series against the Phillies on JSOnline.com earlier today.
Ben Sheets was left off.
Sheets will be accompanying the team, and will get to wear his Brewers’ uniform, but is out due to a muscle tear. Game #1 starter Yovani Gallardo will take his place on the roster.
Players that were on the 25-man in August, but left off of the playoff 25-man due to injury, but still allowed to wear their uniforms, are outfielder Gabe Kapler–replaced on the roster by Tony Gwynn–David Riske–replaced by southpaw reliever Mitch Stetter, and Russell Branyan–replaced by infielder/outfielder Brad Nelson (Branyan was, technically, put on the 15-day DL on August 12, and replaced by Laynce Nix, but Nix was outrighted to AAA on September 12 when the Crew added reliever Todd Coffey to the roster). Manager Dale Sveum opted for Nelson over Joe Dillon due to Nelson’s ability and experience in playing both the infield and the outfield, according to JSOnline.com’s Tom Haudricourt.
The Brewers’ also released their starting line-up for Wednesday’s contest:

4. Prince Fielder 1B

6. Corey Hart RF
7. Rickie Weeks 2B

Bill Hall not only gets the start against the left-handed Cole Hamels, he also gets the plum #2 spot in the order. Prince is the only lefty to get the start; perhaps more amazing is how Dale Sveum continues to bat Corey Hart ahead of Rickie Weeks–Weeks is hitting .276 over the past 30 days, while Hart is hitting one-hundred points lower at .176; for the year, however, Weeks is batting .250 against lefties, while Hart is hitting .281.
