The injury bug continues to slow the Sacramento Kings. Both Rudy Gay and Darren Collison will miss their second straight game tonight when the Kings take on the Rockets in Houston. Gay continues to struggle with right Achilles tendinitis and Collison is out with a left quadricep contusion/strain.
Neither Gay nor Collison were available Tuesday night in New Orleans, but the Kings continued to roll. Sacramento knocked off the Pelicans by a final of 99-89 and extended their winning streak to three games.
Omri Casspi started in place of Gay, finishing with 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting. Ramon Sessions, who started the day questionable with a right knee strain, filled in nicely for Collison, scoring 15 points and handing out a team-high six assists in the win. Casspi and Sessions will likely start again tonight for coach Michael Malone.
Casspi played in 71 games last season with the Rockets, averaging 6.9 points and 3.7 rebounds in 18.1 minutes per game.
With the starters ailing, reserves Ray McCallum and Derrick Williams will see an increase in playing time as well.
