The Lakers and Celtics had mutual interest for a Rajon Rondo deal, but the Lakers weren’t willing to give up injured rookie Julius Randle, a source said.
LA couldn’t offer Julius Randle because right now he’s the future of the franchise. You may wonder what Danny Ainge would want with another power forward. His current mindset isn’t about roster needs, it’s about securing assets of value.
Speaking of assets, Jermaine O’Neal is contemplating a comeback. The Mavericks are rumored to have interest in his corpse.
Can I physically still play?Probably better than 60% of the bigs in the league today! That’s not a knock on anyone but more about how I feel

I’m sure Rajon Rondo can’t wait to be reunited with a guy who was universally hated in the Celtics lockerroom.
I still say Jermaine was Ainge’s biggest mistake. Sure Rasheed Wallace under-performed, but at least he contributed something. The Celtics wasted $11 million on him over two years when they had limited salary flexibility.
