The St. Louis Blues were silent during the first round of the 2015 NHL Draft. The team didn’t have a pick and didn’t make any noise on the trade front. However, there was one extremely weird, random rumor which surfaced from an Edmonton Oilers reporter.

Matheson appeared to be throwing out names without any inside information, but it’s peculiar (and insane) he mentioned Kevin Shattenkirk. T.J. Oshie has been connected to a ton of possible trades and teams, but Shattenkirk’s name hasn’t come up because the team would be foolish to deal him away.
Later, Matheson clarified that Shattenkirk would be a logical option for the Oilers due to his salary.

Obviously, a trade never happened and Matheson’s Tweets were ridiculed.
