Last night, the Sacramento Kings reminded everyone why they haven’t made a playoff push in over eight years. They took two steps back after the encouraging words DeMarcus Cousins gave at practice two days ago.
Playoffs? It’s tough to even talk about that because every time we think this team has taken a step forward, they always reassure us that changing bad habits take time.
With that said, the NBA released the third All-Star voting update and DeMarcus Cousins stayed behind Zaza Pachulia. We wish it were a joke. Not only is it laughable but it’s also inexcusable. The scoring leader in 2016 sits in the 9th position in voting? That can’t be right but it is.
The NBA trade deadline is around a month away, and of course, the Kings always seem to be involved.
According to Michael Scotto of SheridanHoops, the Pelicans rejected a trade with the Kings that would have sent Rudy Gay to New Orleans and Ryan Anderson to Sacramento.
When first glancing at it, you question why the Pelicans would decline it. But Anderson’s contract is up after the season and they might be looking at filling in other needs rather than taking on a player like Gay for a couple more seasons.
Another silly rumor involves the Kings making a “blockbuster” trade that includes the Bulls, Heat and a fourth team. The players that were mentioned: Derrick Rose, Hassan Whiteside and Gay.
Again, these are only rumors and 90 percent of the time, the rumors that are not talked about are the ones that actually happen.
But nobody can deny that rumors are kind of exciting. Let us know what you would like to see happen and we can talk about it on either of our two podcasts.
