Rutgers and Louisville Lose. What It Means for UC

Rutgers was destroyed by Pittsburgh today. Louisville lost in triple overtime to Connecticut. This makes the Big East race a jumbled mess with Syracuse and Cincinnati both winning yesterday. Here is how everything shakes out.

* Rutgers still has 1 conference loss. They host Louisville on Thursday night. Whoever wins this game will be the Big East BCS representative.

* The league breaks down to a 4 team mini league of 5-2 teams. Cincinnati and Syracuse both lost to Rutgers, Cincinnati lost to Louisville and Cincinnati beat Syracuse. Both teams would be 1-2 in the mini league. They are both eliminated.

* Louisville or Rutgers would advance to the BCS game due to whoever was ranked higher in the BCS. You would assume that would be whoever won on Thursday.

* Cincinnati and Syracuse would still get the pride of being co-Big East champs. Just like last year for the Bearcats. It's cool to say, but it doesn't mean a lot.

* What this really makes stand out is the Rutgers game last week. That one really hurt.

* The fact Louisville could finish 4th in the Big East is stunning. What a collapse.

In summary, Louisville has to beat Rutgers for the Bearcats to get a share of the league title, but under no circumstances will UC go to the BCS game.
