Agent Mark Bartelstein has told multiple media outlets that his client Carl Landry has signed a new four-year, $26-million deal with the Sacramento Kings. This will be the second tour of duty for Landry in a Kings uniform.
The 29-year old Landry spent parts of the 2009-10 and 2010-11 season with the Kings after coming over in the deal that sent Kevin Martin to the Houston Rockets. The Kings traded him to New Orleans at the 2011 trade deadline for shooting guard Marcus Thornton.
Landry spent last season with the Golden State Warriors, after signing a free agent deal with the team last summer. He averaged 10.8 points and 6.0 rebounds a game in 23 minutes a game off the Warriors bench, helping them get to the second round of the playoffs.
Landry is a consummate professional and highly efficient post scorer that played for coach Michael Malone in both of his last stops. With Landry in tow, the Kings now have an abundance of big men, including two other former Rockets in Chuck Hayes and Patrick Patterson.
