Sacramento Kings recall Ray McCallum from Reno

The Sacramento Kings announced this morning that rookie second round pick Ray McCallum is on his way to New Orleans to join the team after a four game stint with the Reno Bighorns.  McCallum was originally sent down to Reno on the morning of January 12, but the allocation was rescinded later that day and he played six minutes in the Kings 124-80 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

McCallum joined the Bighorns the following day, playing a total of four games over nine days, while averaging 18.5 points, 4.8 assists, 2.3 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 34.3 minutes per game.

This was McCallum’s second stint in Reno.  In his first assignment with the Bighorns earlier this season, the former Detroit Mercy star averaged 22 points, five rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.33 steals in 38 minutes per contest over three games.

The 22-year old point guard has seen limited action with Sacramento this season, playing a total of 22 minutes over eight games with the Kings.
