The Sacramento Kings have rescinded their decision to assign Ray McCallum to the Reno Bighorns. He will be available to play in today’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“We’re playing a team that likes to play a lot of small ball,” Kings coach Michael Malone said pregame of the move to keep McCallum in Sacramento. “They’ll play three ball-handling guards out there at times in Jarrett Jack, Dion Waiters and Kyrie Irving. Just felt that why not have Ray around today in a game that he may be able to play in.”
Earlier this morning, the Kings announced the allocation of the rookie second round pick to the NBA Development League. The 22-year old guard has played sparingly with the Kings since returning from an assignment in Reno in late November, seeing just 17 minutes of total playing time over seven contests.
In his last assignment in Reno, McCallum averaged 22 points, five rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.33 steals in 38 minutes per contest over three games.
