Orlando Johnson‘s stay with the Sacramento Kings has been extended.
The Kings announced Saturday afternoon that they’ve signed the 24-year-old guard to a second 10-day contract. His first 10-day deal expired today.
Johnson was waived by the Indiana Pacers following the NBA’s annual trade deadline to make room for Lavoy Allen and Evan Turner. Since arriving in Sacramento, he has become a part of Michael Malone’s rotation, playing backup minutes at shooting guard behind rookie Ben McLemore. As a King, Johnson has averaged 1.8 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.6 assists in nine minutes per contest.
Johnson was picked 36th overall in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Kings. His rights, however, were traded on draft night to the Pacers for cash considerations.
