Fans will be treated to a taste of Indian culture next week when the Sacramento Kings host their first-ever Bollywood Night at Sleep Train Arena. The Indian-themed game will take place next Wednesday when the Kings play host to the Los Angeles Lakers on April 2.

As part of the festivities, the NBA will stream the game live in India. Players will also wear warm-up shirts featuring “Kings” inscribed in Hindi. Sacramento Kings Dancers are also slated to perform a Bollywood-style dance routine at some point during the game.

The idea is not new to the NBA. In fact, Kings majority owner Vivek Ranadivé played a major role in making Bollywood Night an annual festivity for fans of the Golden State Warriors. Golden State has hosted an Indian-themed game for the last four seasons.

Ranadivé is the first Indian-born majority owner of an NBA team. He’s stated plans to help expand the game to to India over the next several years. Ranadivé intends to make a trip to his native country with new NBA Commissioner Adam Silver sometime this spring.
