Saints Packers shows defense slipping

packersNo reason to wait until Thanksgiving to carve up New Orleans defense. The important game Sunday for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs the Detroit Lions got even more important; the Bucs have a chance to go one up on New Orleans already. While its far too early to start counting games behind, last nights game gave me reason to think the Bucs really do have a chance to make the playoffs this year.

Did you see all the offense last night? Ok I have a better, more important question.

Did you see the defense? Because I didnt.

Green Bay achieved 67% on 3rd downs against the Saints. It was 100% in the red zone, going 4 for 4 in the money area of the field. The Saints gave up 400 yards of offense, and allowed Green Bay to score 21 points in the first half.

All that, and Green Bay wasnt the better offense on the field. Because as bad as the Saints defense was, Green Bay’s was worse.

477 yards New Orleans ran up on the Super Bowl champs, so Detroit has to be thinking the same thing the Bucs are.

These champs look vulnerable, and both Tampa Bay and Detroit look to have better defenses on the year. Wether they will be good enough remains to be seen.
