Saints Nation: 2011 Midseason Review, Will Smith is Defensive MVP

Saints Nation: 2011 Midseason Review, Will Smith is Defensive MVPThrough 8 games, my Saints’ defensive MVP is Will Smith. He was suspended for the first 2 games but has played well upon return. I have to say, the defensive grades overall are fairly low and poor across the board. Quite simple there hasn’t been much good play to brag about. Smith is tied for the team lead with 4.5 sacks in 6 games played. Not bad. Martez Wilson technically has the highest GPA but only 1 game graded so he didn’t qualify. Leigh Torrence also had a higher GPA but I’ve decided to include him in the special teams unit for now since he hasn’t played enough defense.

Below are the defensive player’s that have been graded through 8 games:

Martez Wilson 3.00 (1 game graded)
Will Smith 2.83 (6 games graded)
Patrick Robinson 2.67 (8 games)
Jo-Lonn Dunbar 2.62 (7 games)
